Regional Wielkopolska Agricultural and Industrial Chamber in Poznan (RWIRP)

Regional Wielkopolska Agricultural and Industrial Chamber is a nongovernmental organisation established in Poznan in 1998. The Chamber is active in the whole of Poland, however it has particularly strong ties with the Wielkopolska region. Among many other activities, RWIRP stimulates establishment of new non-profit organisations and provide them with legislation advice concerning legislation and supports their search for funding. As Poland is a new member of EU, despite of considerable human potential, there is a need for the Third Sector development support. Concerning this, our organisation actively coordinates projects such as for LEADER, and other activities aiming at bringing the innovative awareness and support for rural development. RWIRP aim is to serve the interests of NGOs, by providing needed support and encouraging their participation in European projects.

RWIRP is a self-governmental, non-profit organisation representing commercial interests of its voluntary members, who are mainly entrepreneurs and farmers. The main business activities of our entrepreneurs are production, manufacturing, trade, and services in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, food industry and trade. RWIRP human resources are supported by rural development researchers and other experts. RWIRP main mission is stimulation of sustainable development of rural areas by bringing together different institutions, organisations and other actors as well as transfer of knowledge and supporting innovativeness. We are highly interested in promotion of new non-farm activities in rural areas. In the RWIRP office is placed the centre for the network of 60 information points within Agro Info network which closely cooperate with Euro Direct network

Additionally, our organisation encourages discussion on democratic processes implementation and concerning the gender issue. As very important issue we consider promotion of full participation of women and men in society, especially activation of women in rural areas as considerable human potential.
Within Sixth FP the Chamber coordinated project dedicated to this important issue, in strong cooperation with European Cooperation Found and European Union of Women - Polish Branch. The region office of this organisation is also situated in RWIRP office.
RWIRP will be happy to join a kind of project related to fields of our interests. We are especially looking for possibility of taking part in an international consortium or network where we could exchange our experience and learn from others good practices.
